Interesting, brief reviews of Web 2.0 applications
Educational Origami is a blog, and a wiki, about the integration of ICT into the classroom, this is one of the largest challenges that I feel we as teachers face. Marc Prensky coined the now popular and famous phrase "Digital natives and digital immigrants" in his two papers on digital Children. We the teachers are the immigrants and our students are the natives, brought up in a world where there has always been computers and the internet, where information is always instant and varied.
I made this wiki on request from Miguel Guhlin after I blogged about matching ICT tools to traditional classroom practice and Bloom?s Taxonomy.
I've compiled my exhaustive list of the tools I use most often in my classroom and in my life. These are my own and not endorsed by TechLearning or anyone else! If you use something else, share it!
Teachers for all levels of students today have so many more teaching aids than even just a few years ago. That?s not just because of greater access to the Internet but also because of the growing number of web applications that they can use. Some applications are specifically geared towards teaching and learning. Other applications can be adapted for these purposes. Here?s a list of some online applications, listed alphabetically, that we feel are excellent for teachers.
The links below are categorized to help you find Web 2.0 tools that might be of use to the K-12 classroom teacher. (Disclaimer: It is highly recommended that the individual teacher carefully preview any sites before sharing materials in the classroom with students!)
Bloggers, we need to work on welcoming folks to the Internet and that includes sharing our tools. I encourage you to share your most useful tools and websites with your readers. Tag it bestoftheweb
Let me start by saying, I know I?ll forget something, but here is my list.
